Q + A

When do I need to RSVP by?

January 10th is the absolute latest. We'd like to know sooner than later so we can plan accordingly. We will most likely be bugging you before then if you haven't responded. We'll also count as a NO if no response by then.

How do I book the resort, is there a special rate for the wedding?

We have the room rates attached here on the travel page. To use our rates use the following link that's also on the travel page. You are also free to make your own booking on a different site if you choose. Please let us know if you book outside of our room block URL. At the moment, you'll notice the hotel website requires 4-night minimum, but our rate sheet that is attached will allow for a 3-night minimum. https://be.synxis.com/?Chain=26025&Dest=MEX&config=royalton&theme=royalton&arrive=2025-03-27&depart=2025-03-30&adult=1&child=0&promo=GZ778G

Where do I fly into?

Cancun International Airport (CUN). The resort is about a 9 mile (15-30min) drive from the airport.

How do I get from the airport to the resort and back?

The TRAVEL section of this website will show you the link for Nexus which is what we have used and what the hotel recommends. Depending on your travel time, we can help you look into sharing a transfer or you're free to book your own transfer. Round trip transfers for 2 people start at about $60+ for a shared transfer or private transfer for $80+.

When should I fly in and fly out?

Come as early and stay as late as you want, the scheduled events we have are listed on here. We are coming Tuesday to Sunday.

What should I wear to the ceremony/reception?

Wear something comfortable and semi-casual. We want everyone to feel good and look good. The sun will be out for the ceremony and sunset as we get into the reception. I would expect upper 80's during the day and down to 70 in the later night.

There are multiple Royalton hotels in Cancun, which is it?

The name of the hotel is "Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun", not to be confused with the neighboring hotel "Hideway at Royalton Riviera Cancun". The Royalton Splash is a nice new resort completed in 2022.

What are we eating at the reception dinner?

Beef filets, salmon, chicken, vegetables, dessert, appetizers. We chose buffet style over seated plating to allow our guests to eat as much as they want and ease of service. We have already visited the resort and taste tested the wedding food and it was great. We are hoping they can recreate that exact meal for our entire group. We asked filets be cooked medium-rare.

I can't go, but really wish I could. Do you still love me?

Yes! Please do not feel obligated to come. We will love you regardless and respect your choice. We understand an international destination wedding can be a big commitment. We will miss you!

How many people are going?

We are sending out invites for about 140 guests total and are guessing that half or less will be able to make it. Maybe you'll all surprise us and show up.

Do you have a wedding registry?

We are not registered anywhere, we would just be thrilled that you came to celebrate our wedding with us. We have all the home goods and gadgets we need. If you feel inclined, consider making a contribution to our honeymoon fund or more importantly, donate to a charity or fund of your choice that benefits the research and treatment of cancer.
